"Isn't it great how much better acting is these days compared to older movies that were so exaggerated and theatrical?" I have news for you about art and naturalism being a style.
#I also think some people just hate joy#this is why we no longer have riotously funny movies like Arsenic and Old Lace#AaOL would be terrible if someone tried to make it a naturalistic movie#There were naturalistic movies and acting in the past!#the concept of naturalism wasn't discovered in 1989!#But non-naturalistic acting styles were trend#and preferred for many reasons#How people can spouse a post modern understanding of plastic arts#while having strict naturalism=only good superior art when it comes to movies#baffles me#But also the hatred of joy#madam sometimes I assure you an actor making exaggerated heart eyes and smile can contain so much joy in it#And so does the extreme horror in the face of Cary Grant in AaOL#anyways go watch some old movies
